Salmon DNA (Polynucleotide)

Aims to support skin quality and hydration through polynucleotides.

Sessions
Usually a course of sessions
Duration
About 20–30 minutes
Recovery
Back to daily life the same day

Who is it suitable for?

Considered particularly for people describing thinning, fine lines and tired-looking skin under the eyes. It is not a filler used to add volume — the aim is to support tissue quality.

How does it work?

Polynucleotides are DNA fragments purified from salmon. Delivered into the skin, they are thought to support water retention and tissue repair processes. The effect is gradual; no immediate volume effect should be expected.

How is it performed?

Superficial micro-injections are made into the skin with fine needles. The number and spacing of sessions is planned individually.

What to watch for afterwards

Avoid make-up and direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours. Temporary bumps and redness at the injection points can occur.

This treatment is not for everyone

Who should not have it?

Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in people with a history of allergy to fish-derived products, or where there is active skin infection in the area.

Frequently asked

About this treatment

What is a polynucleotide — is it a filler?

It is not a filler used to add volume; it is a treatment aimed at skin quality. The volume effect expected from a filler should not be expected here.

It is described as fish-derived — what if I have an allergy?

The product is salmon-derived. It is not advised for people with a fish allergy, and you must tell us your history: the assessment cannot be made without it.

When do results show?

The effect is not immediate; changes in skin quality are assessed gradually across the course of sessions. The timescale depends on the condition of your skin.

How long does it last?

It is not permanent and may need repeating at intervals. The interval is set at follow-up according to how the skin responds.

What side effects are possible?

Temporary redness, mild swelling, itching or small bruises at the injection points, usually short-lived. Contact the clinic if you notice an unexpected reaction.

Who should not have it?

It is not applied to people with a fish allergy, where there is active infection or an active cold sore at the site, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tell us about any chronic illness before assessment.

What should I do before the appointment?

Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.

Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?

Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.

Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Who performs the treatment?

The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.

Which products are used?

Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.

Why is there no price on the site?

Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.

Can another treatment be done in the same session?

Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
