Who is it suitable for?
Considered for people bothered by prominent pores, particularly across the nose, cheeks and forehead. The number of pores cannot be changed; the aim is to reduce how visible they are rather than remove them, and expectations need to be set that way.
How does it work?
Three things make pores look larger: oil production, blockage within the pore, and slackening of the skin around it. The plan follows from which of these dominates — an oily skin is approached differently from one where the cause is laxity.
How is it performed?
Skin type and pore pattern are assessed at examination. A treatment and a home care routine are planned together, and the result is followed over time.
What to watch for afterwards
The routine is kept up without gaps; pore appearance regresses most in the periods when care is dropped. Abrasive mechanical scrubs and the habit of squeezing are avoided. Sunscreen is used.
This treatment is not for everyone
Who should not have it?
Where acne is active and inflamed, the acne is addressed first. Treatment is postponed if there is active skin infection, a rosacea flare or an open wound in the area.
Frequently asked
About this treatment
Will my pores shrink permanently?
The number and structure of pores are inherited and cannot be changed. The aim is to reduce how visible they are, not to remove them. An approach that promises permanent shrinkage is not being realistic.
When do results show?
The change is gradual and reads over weeks. A settling of oil production is described relatively early, while changes in surface texture take longer.
Will the blackheads on my nose clear too?
Blackheads form when the plug inside a pore meets the air and darkens, and they are dealt with as part of the plan. They re-form if care is not kept up, though; a one-off clearance is not a lasting fix.
If I stop the routine, will it go back to how it was?
Largely, yes. Pore appearance regresses most in the periods when care is dropped. The plan is therefore built on a routine you can sustain, not on a short, intensive course.
Are pore strips or squeezing at home harmful?
Emptying a pore mechanically clears it briefly but strains the tissue around it and can make it more visible over time. Squeezing also carries a risk of inflammation and scarring.
My skin is oily — will that change?
Skin type is not something that can be changed, though a settling of oil production can be aimed at. Oily skin has an advantage too: problems related to dryness appear later with age.
What should I do before the appointment?
Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.
Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?
Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.
Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
Who performs the treatment?
The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.
Which products are used?
Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.
Why is there no price on the site?
Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.
Can another treatment be done in the same session?
Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
