Who is it suitable for?
Considered for people with active spots, inflamed lesions or persistent acne. Acne is a medical skin condition; treating it as a cosmetic matter is the most common reason it ends in scarring.
How does it work?
The severity and type of acne are assessed first, and any underlying hormonal or drug-related cause is reviewed. The treatment plan follows from that; treatments applied to the skin support the plan rather than standing in for it.
How is it performed?
It starts with examination, a review of the products and medication currently in use, and tests where needed. A treatment and skincare plan is then built together and followed with regular reviews. Scar work is planned separately, once active lesions are under control.
What to watch for afterwards
The routine you are given is followed without gaps, and lesions are not squeezed — that is the behaviour that actually causes scarring. Sunscreen matters here because it reduces post-inflammatory darkening. Results are judged over weeks; a temporary worsening in the early weeks can occur.
This treatment is not for everyone
Who should not have it?
Widespread cystic and nodular acne can require systemic treatment, and that is not something aesthetic procedures resolve. The treatments usable during pregnancy and breastfeeding are limited, and the plan is built accordingly.
Frequently asked
About this treatment
When will I see a result?
In acne treatment the change reads over weeks; the skin cycle does not respond faster than that. The plan is therefore built as a followed-up process rather than a short one, and adjusted at interim reviews.
Can my skin get worse at the start?
A temporary flare at the beginning of some treatments can occur. It does not mean the treatment is not working; it is an expected phase. A severe or prolonged worsening should be reported to the clinic.
Are acne scars treated in the same process?
No — scar work is planned separately and begins once active lesions are under control. Starting scar treatment while acne is active both compromises the result and risks new scarring.
Does diet affect acne?
Some people describe a link with particular foods, but that link is not the same for everyone and acne cannot be explained by diet alone. Restrictive diets are not advised; if you have noticed triggers, they are discussed at examination.
Why does it matter so much that I not squeeze spots?
Because that is the behaviour that actually causes scarring. Squeezing pushes inflammation deeper and raises the risk of both permanent scars and post-inflammatory darkening. Where lesions do need attention, that is done under clinical conditions.
Will I need medication?
That depends on the severity. Widespread, cystic or scarring acne may call for systemic treatment, and that is not something aesthetic procedures resolve. The decision follows examination and, where needed, tests.
What should I do before the appointment?
Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.
Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?
Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.
Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
Who performs the treatment?
The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.
Which products are used?
Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.
Why is there no price on the site?
Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.
Can another treatment be done in the same session?
Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
