Skin Quality

Mesotherapy

Vitamin, mineral and hyaluronic acid preparations delivered into the superficial layer of the skin as micro-injections.

Who is it suitable for?

Considered for people describing dullness, dryness and general fatigue in the skin. It does not add volume or lift laxity; the target is tissue quality, and expectations need to be set within that.

How does it work?

The preparation is delivered straight into the dermis, past a skin barrier that limits absorption. The aim is to support the skin's water-holding capacity and its repair processes. The effect is gradual and is judged across repeated applications.

How is it performed?

The skin is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic is applied if needed. Superficial micro-injections are made with very fine needles. Which preparation is used and where it is applied follow from the skin assessment at examination.

What to watch for afterwards

No make-up and no direct sun for the first 24 hours. Temporary bumps, redness and occasionally small bruises appear at the injection points. Peels and retinol products are paused for a few days.

This treatment is not for everyone

Who should not have it?

Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, where there is active skin infection or an eczema flare in the treatment area, with a known allergy to the components, or in an uncontrolled bleeding disorder.

Frequently asked

About this treatment

How does mesotherapy differ from filler?

Filler supports an area by adding volume to the tissue. Mesotherapy adds no volume; it delivers hydrating and supporting ingredients into the superficial layer of the skin and targets tissue quality. The two answer different complaints and do not substitute for one another.

When do results show?

The effect is gradual and is judged across a series rather than after one application. A feeling of hydration and radiance is described relatively early, while changes in tissue quality read over a longer period.

How long does the effect last?

It is not permanent. The skin keeps renewing, so the effect fades over time and the treatment is planned as part of a care routine. How often to repeat is set at your review, according to skin type and complaint.

How many sessions will I need?

Giving a single number would not be honest — the number of sessions is planned around the state of the skin, the complaint and how it responds. An approach that quotes a number before examining you is not building a plan for you.

What side effects can occur?

Temporary bumps, redness and occasionally small bruises at the injection points are expected findings and settle on their own. Anything unexpected — increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth — should be reported to the clinic.

Isn't this the same as the serums I use at home?

No. The skin barrier limits how far anything applied to the surface can travel. In mesotherapy the ingredients cross that barrier and are delivered directly into the dermis. That does not make home care redundant; the two complement each other.

What should I do before the appointment?

Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.

Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?

Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.

Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Who performs the treatment?

The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.

Which products are used?

Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.

Why is there no price on the site?

Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.

Can another treatment be done in the same session?

Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
