Lips

Lip Mesotherapy

An injection treatment intended to support hydration and surface quality of the lip, without adding volume.

Who is it suitable for?

Considered for people whose lips look dry, cracked and dull, and who do not want volume but are bothered by the texture. For someone who wants larger lips, this is not the right treatment.

How does it work?

Diluted hyaluronic acid and supporting ingredients are delivered superficially into the lip tissue. The aim is to support the lip's own moisture balance; no noticeable increase in volume is intended and none should be expected.

How is it performed?

The area is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic is applied. Micro-injections are made with fine needles into the body of the lip and, where indicated, around it.

What to watch for afterwards

No hot drinks, spicy food or lip products for the first 24 hours. Swelling is more pronounced on the lip than elsewhere and is at its peak on the first day. Tell your doctor about any history of cold sores; preventive treatment may be needed.

This treatment is not for everyone

Who should not have it?

Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, during an active cold sore outbreak or lip infection, with a history of hyaluronic acid allergy, or in a bleeding disorder.

Frequently asked

About this treatment

Will my lips get bigger?

No — adding volume is not what this treatment is for. The product used is dilute and aims to support the lip's own moisture balance. For someone who wants more definition or volume, lip filler is the right treatment.

How does it differ from lip filler?

Filler uses a denser product to give the lip volume and border definition. In mesotherapy the aim is tissue quality alone; the result is noticed in how the lip feels rather than in how it looks.

How long does the swelling last?

The lip is one of the areas most prone to swelling, so there can be noticeable swelling on the first day even though no volume is intended. It usually settles quickly. The result should not be judged in those first days.

When do results show?

A change in dryness and roughness is described relatively early. The effect is gradual and is judged across a series.

How long does the effect last?

It is not permanent. The lip is constantly in motion and exposed to the elements, so this is thought of as part of a care plan.

I am considering lip filler — should this come first?

In some cases it makes sense to support tissue quality first; in others filler is planned directly. The order is decided once your lip structure and what you want are assessed together.

What should I do before the appointment?

Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.

Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?

Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.

Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Who performs the treatment?

The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.

Which products are used?

Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.

Why is there no price on the site?

Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.

Can another treatment be done in the same session?

Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
