Temples

Temple Filler

Support for a hollowed temple, intended to soften the transition across the upper third of the face.

Who is it suitable for?

Considered for people who describe hollowing at the temples, with eyes that look more tired and a face that reads more angular. This area also loses volume early after significant weight loss.

How does it work?

The hollow at the temple comes from thinning of the fat and muscle beneath the skin, not the skin itself. Filler supports that space at depth, with the aim of softening the transition between forehead, temple and cheekbone. The point is the coherence of the upper third of the face rather than filling a hollow.

How is it performed?

The area is cleansed and marked. The product is usually placed on the layer above the bone, with a cannula or a deep injection. The temple carries important vessels and nerves, so the entry point and the layer are chosen with care.

What to watch for afterwards

No pressure on the area on the first day, and sleeping on your back that night is advised. Saunas, steam rooms and heavy exercise are postponed for a few days. Mild swelling and tenderness can occur.

This treatment is not for everyone

Who should not have it?

Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, where there is active infection in the area, with a history of hyaluronic acid allergy, or in a bleeding disorder. Anatomical risk makes this one of the treatments that should not be carried out by inexperienced hands.

Frequently asked

About this treatment

How long does it last?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent and are absorbed over time. The temple is a relatively low-movement area, but duration still varies with the product used and with your metabolism.

Can it be reversed if I dislike it?

Hyaluronic acid based products can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. That the treatment is reversible is one of the reasons this product type is preferred in this area.

Will temple filler make my face look wider?

The aim is not to widen but to fill a hollow so the transition between forehead and cheekbone softens. Applied in the right amount, the face reads as more coherent rather than broader. The amount is therefore kept to what the hollow itself calls for.

Will it make my eyes look less tired?

Hollowing at the temple reduces the support behind the tail of the brow, and the eye area reads as more tired as a result. Supporting the area can soften that impression. This is not an eyelid procedure, though — where there is excess eyelid skin, the result has a limit.

Will there be swelling or bruising?

Mild swelling and tenderness are expected findings. The temple is rich in vessels, so bruising can occur; using a cannula is intended to reduce that likelihood.

Why is the doctor's experience emphasised for this area in particular?

Important vessels and nerves run through the temple, and an injection outside the correct layer can have serious consequences. The entry point, the depth and the technique are therefore not chosen casually; the treatment should be carried out by a doctor who knows the anatomy.

What should I do before the appointment?

Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.

Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?

Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.

Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Who performs the treatment?

The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.

Which products are used?

Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.

Why is there no price on the site?

Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.

Can another treatment be done in the same session?

Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
