Who is it suitable for?
Considered for people describing persistent fullness under the chin regardless of their weight. It is not a weight loss method and has no target beyond localised fat. Where the fullness comes from skin laxity or jaw structure rather than fat, this treatment will not deliver.
How does it work?
The substance used targets the membrane of the fat cell and causes it to break down. The released fat is cleared by the body's own pathways over weeks. The effect is therefore not immediate but becomes visible across that process.
How is it performed?
The area is marked and cleansed. The product is injected in a distributed pattern into the fat under the chin. Amount and distribution follow from what the examination shows.
What to watch for afterwards
Marked swelling, firmness and tenderness in the area are expected findings afterwards and can last days; this is the normal course of the treatment. Heavy exercise and heat are postponed briefly. Because the swelling can be noticeable, planning social commitments around it is advised.
This treatment is not for everyone
Who should not have it?
Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, where there is active infection in the area, in difficulty swallowing, in bleeding disorders, or with a known allergy to the components. If a thyroid or other cause is suspected behind the fullness, that is assessed first.
Frequently asked
About this treatment
When will I see a result?
The effect does not appear immediately but emerges across the process. Clearing the released fat takes the body weeks, and because the area is swollen during that period, judging it in the interim can mislead.
How long does the swelling last — can I go to work?
Marked swelling, firmness and tenderness under the chin are expected afterwards and can last days. This is the normal course of the treatment. Because the swelling is visible, it is worth planning work and social commitments around it.
If I gain weight, will the fat come back?
The treatment targets localised fat, not weight control. With general weight gain the body continues to store fat and the area can fill again. Holding the result depends on holding your weight steady.
How does it differ from liposuction?
Liposuction is a surgical procedure in which fat is removed mechanically. Here, the injected substance breaks down the fat cell and the body clears it over time. The two suit pictures of different scale.
What if the fullness under my chin is skin laxity?
Then this will not help. The only target of this treatment is fat tissue. Where the fullness comes from skin laxity or jaw structure, it will not deliver what is expected; that distinction is made at examination.
Can it be used on other parts of the body?
Its use is limited to localised, contained deposits of fat; it is not a solution for generalised weight. Which areas are suitable is assessed at examination.
What should I do before the appointment?
Medicines and supplements that thin the blood — aspirin, ibuprofen-type painkillers, vitamin E, omega-3 — make bruising more likely. Tell us before your appointment if you take any; whether and when to pause them is your doctor's decision. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you have a history of cold sores, say so: an injection can trigger one.
Does it hurt? Is anaesthetic used?
Very fine needles are used, and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand where it helps. Most people describe a mild sting. Pain thresholds differ, so if you are uncomfortable during the procedure just say so — it can be paused and more can be done.
Can it be done during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Aesthetic injections are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data for these periods, so they are avoided. Tell us beforehand if you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
Who performs the treatment?
The assessment, the planning and the injection are all carried out by Dr. Burak Gümüşçü. What will be done, why, and what the alternatives are is explained before anything begins.
Which products are used?
Only licensed, single-use, sterile products. If you would like to know the name and contents of the product being used, that is shared at the consultation, and the packaging is opened in front of you.
Why is there no price on the site?
Türkiye's health advertising rules prohibit clinics from publishing prices or promotional offers. Beyond that, the amount used and the number of sessions vary from person to person, so a single figure would be misleading. Your own figure is given directly after the consultation.
Can another treatment be done in the same session?
Some treatments can be planned together in one session; others need to be spaced apart. That is decided after the face is assessed as a whole — the aim is to get the order right, not to add procedures.
